Description
The Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) offers a unique internship program for college students interested in gaining hands-on experience in the federal law enforcement field. Work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to fulfilling the FLETC mission of training "those who protect our homeland."
Responsibilities
- Participate in a 12-week program consisting of:
- Law Enforcement Track: Perform meaningful tasks supporting FLETC's mission, gaining valuable insights into various law enforcement operations.
- Non-Law Enforcement Track: Work on challenging administrative projects, understanding how different departments contribute to FLETC's mission.
- Audit basic and advanced training courses, broadening your knowledge of law enforcement practices.
- Collaborate with a designated mentor for guidance and networking opportunities.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program in criminal justice, criminology, business, information technology, social sciences, or related fields.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 (or equivalent).
- Strong work ethic, problem-solving skills, and ability to learn quickly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
Experience
- Prior internship experience (preferred but not required).
- Relevant coursework or research experience in your field of study.
Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
