Description
As an MWAA summer intern, you'll be assigned to a specific department based on your interests and qualifications. You'll collaborate with experienced staff on projects related to:
- Operations: Assist with passenger flow management, air traffic control support, and ground operations optimization.
- Engineering & Construction: Learn about airport infrastructure projects, construction management, and sustainability initiatives.
- Security & Safety: Explore airport security protocols, emergency preparedness planning, and passenger screening procedures.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to passengers at information desks, gate areas, and concession stands.
- Marketing & Communications: Support marketing campaigns, social media content creation, and public outreach programs.
- Finance & Administration: Gain insight into airport financial management, budgeting, and procurement processes.
Responsibilities
- Assist with assigned projects under the guidance of experienced mentors.
- Conduct research, collect data, and prepare reports relevant to your internship area.
- Participate in meetings, trainings, and potential site visits.
- Contribute to maintaining a professional and collaborative work environment.
- Specific tasks will vary depending on the chosen department and program focus.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 required.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with additional software skills preferred depending on the program.
- U.S. citizenship or valid work authorization required.
Experience
- Prior internship or relevant work experience preferred, but not required.
- Experience in your field of study or a related field is a plus.
- Strong academic performance demonstrates your ability to excel in the internship.
