Description

Pantex is excited to offer Summer Internship opportunities for motivated individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the field of nuclear weapons production and maintenance in 2024. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work on meaningful projects alongside experienced professionals, contributing to the vital mission of ensuring the safety, security, and reliability of the nation's nuclear deterrent. Responsibilities
  • Support various projects and initiatives related to nuclear weapons production, assembly, disassembly, and maintenance.
  • Assist in conducting research, analysis, and testing of nuclear weapons components and systems.
  • Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and technicians to solve technical challenges and improve processes.
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance understanding of nuclear weapons technologies and safety protocols.
  • Adhere to all safety and security procedures and regulations while working in classified environments.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a degree program in engineering, physics, chemistry, materials science, or a related field.
  • Must have completed at least two years of undergraduate coursework by the start of the internship.
Experience
  • Previous coursework or experience in nuclear engineering, weapons design, or related fields is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with laboratory techniques, instrumentation, and data analysis methods is beneficial.
Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (if required).
